The folds of your heart

A heavenly dance

Bathed in a sacred starlight
Carrying nothing but light
From the solstice you were born
From light we all drew breath
In night you disappeared
As you hid beneath the whispers
And lay amongst the stars
High above
I found you dancing
Upon a gilded floor
Sculpted from love
The dance floor of the muses
The dance floor of the heavens

To capture time

He could think of nothing less
Than to give her the world,
So out of words he built the cosmos.

Time through the eyes of the gods

And in a moment
We realized that time didn’t exist
For we had lived something eternal
In this life so ephemeral.

We asked the sky
Who lightly laughed back
And winked at us with warm eyes
And whispered over the sea and through the leaves…

The weight of love

How much does love weigh?
Enough to keep a light heart from floating away?
Nourished by absence,
It grew heavier
Day by day
And although neither promised
A single tone carried enough
The final moment said enough assurances.

Crying for redemption

You remind me of the spring blossoms
Whenever I recall the memories of those first few moments
When all I could do
Was center myself around you
And as we walked
I would get lost
In the depths of your black eyes
Where my reflection stood
Side by side
With your soul and your desires
And I was told by every
Strand of your hairs
As each one you left in my bed
Cried out for redemption.

A memory of the sun

This memory
Is made of something
Stronger than thoughts
Stronger than the senses
For you’re all I can paint in my dreams
Once filled with open spaces
And seas
And all that I hear
Over the drone of the city
What my skin longs to feel
Is your gentle warmth
Crawling over the pillow
It recalls this memory quite often
In a moment without occupation
This memory was built
By more than feeble minds
The flesh of our carnal lust
Fueled by each other’s hot breath
A layer peeled away by the sun
