Icarus
Too close to the sun
I reach, and I fly
You, radiance and magic
Melt away my wings

Dark skies
Rolling, rolling
It crashed over the horizon
They listened

To capture time
He could think of nothing less
Than to give her the world,
So out of words he built the cosmos.

A sacrifice of voices
I threw my voice
Into the eager night
Into a hungry void
To be swallowed whole
To be sung forever
Day one
Under grey January skies
An orange hued voice rambles
On and on about frivolities,
Spewing its languid hatred
And swaying the masses
Like trees bent under powerful wind
With false promises
Of a better future
Composed of a whimsical greatness
Of which no one can hold
When the truth really looks
Outward with greedy eyes,
Counting its profit, fame, and power.
